Ok, the new guidelines say that text erotica is ok. Only gifs, photos, videos and the like will be flagged. So…Tumblr….why is your algorithm flagging a text post? Shouldn’t that be the first thing it checks? The type of post?? Just a developer here wondering how much you paid for that algorithm.
Soup.io – well-known alternative to Tumblr. Reblogging, post types, themes, collab blogs, dashboard, artsy, great community already there. Soup can auto-import everything you’ve posted on Tumblr.
TypePad – Includes reblogging. Dashboard and post types similar to Tumblr.
A directory of social media handles so people can find you on other sites. Once you fill out the form (none of the questions are required so in theory you can just hit “submit” without answering anything, but you can also just View Here) you will be able to access, but not edit, a spreadsheet of everyone’s handles across their social media.
As the disclaimer banner says, EVERYTHING you enter into this form is made public so you know, be careful. If you don’t want two of your handles linked…don’t put ‘em both in there.
I can’t think of a genuine reason this would be a bad idea but it’s a lot of data about people and their personal names that’s easily scrapeable so you know, if you can argue that this is a really bad idea for X reason, I’m willing to listen and delete as necessary.

As you know, Tumblr has begun the fuckening. I am someone who is a part of so many great Captain America fandom communities, and I’d hate to lose touch with anyone as a result of this nonsense.
Because of that, I’ve created a Captain America Fandom Lifeboat spreadsheet where people can list their alternate contact accounts, from Pillowfort to Twitter. Please feel free to share this across Cap fandom, or even into the wider MCU!
Adult content will still be allowed on Tumblr provided it meets their guidelines.
Guidelines are that IMAGES/GIF/VIDEOS containing FEMALE-presenting nipples/human genitalia that is not for artistic/political/educational purposes .i.e. The Statue Of David is okay, Ron Jeremy banging two blondes with a feather duster is not.
If you currently have anything not adhering to their guidelines on your blog, they will change the post so only you can view it and this cannot be changed back. They’ll notify you by email if anything of yours gets flagged. BOY AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO 3,000 NOTIFICATIONS.
If your blog is currently NSFW, it will stay that way. You can still write and post erotica (the porn of sophisticates) but things like porn gif blurbs are a no-no.
If your posts are flagged and they are not breaking the rules, you can appeal it.
Yes, we allow NSFW content, we just asked that it be tagged with a ‘NSFW’ flag (available when you’re creating your post) so that it can be filtered out for the convenience of other users who wish to screen out such content.
