Okay, so let’s crowd source this…

What does a fandom social media platform need in an ideal world? Here’s what I’ve got so far:

A chronological dash (perhaps with reorganization functions based on other feed priorities like “close friends” or “most popular” available as options)

Posts with visible dates of posting

Image, text, video, and link posting options

Forms of interaction: reblog, reply, comment, like

Some manner of saving/bookmarking other people’s posts

No real life ID requirement

Adult content friendly (legal adult content)

Hate speech prohibition

Search function (key words, tags, bold topics)

Porn bot/spam prohibited

Okay, what am I missing?

Queue feature. I want to be able to schedule my posts out.

Draft function; Sometimes a post takes a while to write.

An easy way to edit and/or tag old posts.

Okay, and we’ve got a reply that says “ficcinghell

A chat/IM feature, preferably one that is exportable and also searchable.”

What else, folks? Reblog and give me all the things!

Tag filtering

A gif search that works way better than this one.

Alright peeps! I fixed it! We’re not really Muted. We’re Stuck.

Omg, this was such a pain in the ass, but if you want to fix your stuck blog this is how you do it.

Everything I posted after my first “request for review” got stuck. It was like they put my damn blog on hold. So all the edits I was doing to past posts clogged up my dash. Everything I posted since yesterday afternoon got stuck behind those.

First off, go into your “mass post editor” (little man, pick your blog, find the MPE beneath Edit Appearance), choose all the posts that haven’t shown up since your blog got stuck and add a tag. I chose “Test” to make it easy to find.

This should get your blog moving again. Now, go into your blog, not your dash, but your actual first page. The Home Page. This will show you the posts that have been “flagged and reviewed” like mine were. I did this second step with both desktop and mobile open to see my progress.

It’s like all your newest posts are being hidden behind old ones, so depending on how many posts you’ve made, this could take a while. Scroll down (easiest on mobile) to find your most current post to see how long this dang process will take. Mine was about 7 pages down.

Now, you have to Edit the Tags on EVERY GODDAMNED POST BETWEEN THEM. Yes. Every bloody post (easiest to do on Desktop). I added the word “Testy” to every post and then refreshed my home page to see if it was working. It took me 45minutes to get through all the posts, but once I finished, my blog was on track again, and people can now see my current posts.

It’s a pain in the ass, but it worked.

Hope this helps.

When You’re Not In The Fandom But You’re Nosy AF

When you get into a fandom only to discover it’s dead

This gets better every time I see it.

@fuboos-mess

Being in a dead fandom…

The accuracy hurts.

Being in a fandom that had a shit ending.

I always enjoy it when a good post comes around again and has been improved by the reblogs like the years for a fine wine.

Being in a fandom when shit goes down and everyone has different opinions

When you are in a fandom and don’t care for others people opinion…..even if they are right…(believe me, I have met several of those)

Being in a fandom you never meant to join

I love this. and it’s gotten better

After abandoning a fandom you’re still a little bit emotionally invested in….
